The sun never sets on the InsideJapan Tours team (well, maybe on Sundays) as we have offices in Bristol (UK), Broomfield, (USA), Brisbane (Australia) and Nagoya (Japan). On this page you can meet the people behind our Japan tours and holidays.

We have a wide range of backgrounds and interests, but you can be sure that the one thing that ties us all together is a love of Japan, Japanese culture and a passionate desire to share that with other people.

Originally from Kent, Sam found her way to Bristol via Brighton and the many destinations that seven years in the travel industry have taken her (including Australia, South Africa, Japan and America no less...)

Having kicked off her career in educational travel, one of her favourite travel memories is of accompanying a group of 50 teenage boys and their teachers on a trip to Dallas. It may not be the dream for many of us, but Sam describes it as "one of the best experiences I've ever had!"

When not jet-setting, she can be found exploring Bristol's foodie and entertainment scene, not least because her Mum owns a pub in the city centre. When we heard that she'd walked over fire there, we were pleased to find out that it was all in aid of charity, rather than a Friday night gone wrong. Apparently it's not as painful as it looks and you should walk not run, we'll take her word for it.

Talking of food, some of her most experimental dining experiences have been in Japan where she sampled horse, eel and pufferfish. Japanese curry and a glass of sparkling sake would be her choice of cuisine though, if you're asking.

What is your favourite place in Japan?

"My favourite place in Japan is probably Miyajima Island - it is absolutely stunning with beautiful clear waters and lush greenery, combined with traditional temples and pagodas, as well as the hustle and bustle of the markets.

I would recommend that visitors keep hold of anything made of paper as the deer on the island are like ninjas and will be eating anything you don't keep an eye on before you know it!"
