Open-air sculpture park
Fantastic sculpture in a beautiful mountainous valley.
Deep in Fuji-Hakone-Izu National Park, Chokoku no Mori blends stunning mountain scenery with works of art. Sitting in harmony with nature, the park features sculptures by world famous artists such as Rodin, Miró, Anthony Gormley and Henry Moore who famously proclaimed that "sculpture is an art of the open air". The museum also includes indoor exhibitions and a permanent Picasso pavilion.
The wide spaces of the park make it a fun place to take children and there are many interactive sculptures which double as climbing frames for kids to clamber over. Finish the day by giving your feet a soak in the outdoor hot spring footbath.
