Origami
Learn to fold paper like a pro... well like an elementary school kid really... with this beginners class in origami.
One of Japan's most well-known arts origami, is the tradition of carefully folding paper into the shapes of animals, flowers, boats and more. Glue and scissors are never used. InsideJapan can arrange an hour long origami lesson during which you will learn to make an origami crane; a great party trick!
It?s believed that 1,000 cranes will make a wish come true. In Japanese folklore cranes symbolise longevity and peace. 1,000 cranes are often given to sick people to wish them a fast recovery. You'll also found strings of 1,000 cranes at the Peace Parks in Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
