Yufuin 
Yufuin is located on Kyushu and is very close to Beppu – one of Japan's most famous spring resort. Somewhat smaller than Beppu, Yufuin is a charming, typical Japanese onsen town that offers a more relaxing atmosphere than its bigger counterpart and is well worth a visit.
Yufuin is a charming town offering an eclectic range of museums and galleries, a healthy spread of cafes and eateries and a picturesque lake by which you can while away an hour or two. Once you reach Yufuin most attractions are within walking distance or it is possible to hire bikes to explore the wider area. And why not take the chance to visit the 1500 monkeys which have made Mount Takasaki (just outside town) their home?
One of Yufuin's attraction is the Shitanyu Public Bath. A small traditional, gender-mixed public bath house that is as Japanese as can be.
