I recently took a well earned two weeks break to visit my family who live in Kobe and I took the opportunty to visit my Japanese colleagues – Ayako-san, Miho-san, Tetsuko-san and Tomoko-san at our Japan Office in Nagoya. I had spoken to them frequently by email and Skype but we had never met before, except Ayako-san who visited us in Bristol last year.
…..after an 70 minutes Shikansen journey from Kobe and 10 minutes by underground… Finally here I am!!
While I was there, our UK office had just started working and I emailed one of my directors Simon to say hello. Once their hard working day had finished, we made our way to a Izakaya near JR Nagoya Station for dinner which Nagoya expert Ayako-san booked for us!
Ayako-san chose this to give me the opportunity to try the local Nagoya food – tebasaki (chicken wings cooked in a sweet sesame sauce), mmmmmmmmm very tasty!
It was a great to see them all and the time passed very quickly. Sorry there are no food photos but I was too busy trying to eat and talk….
