Steve Parker

Special subjects: The great outdoors, hiking, skiing

Steve has spent ten years tour leading and has worked in countries as far flung as Cuba, Spain, Italy, South Korea and Japan. These days he is based in Tokyo, and particularly enjoys leading customers on our challenging Historic Mountain Trails group tour – which he personally helped to develop. Though he misses a good pie and British comedy, the nature, nightlife, food, and the lack of pressure to conform to social norms is what keeps Steve firmly in Japan.

Having discovered a passion for the mountains while studying in the South of France (during which time he was much more likely to be found skiing, caving, rock climbing and hiking than sitting in lectures), Steve still likes to spend as much of his time as possible out amongst the peaks, and his posts bring a breath of fresh mountain air to the IJT blog.
