Sundays in Harajuku
Visit the youth fashion Mecca of Harajuku and perhaps pick up a touch of the 'Harajuku Style'
Sunday is the best day of the week for sightseeing in Tokyo! Anyone with even a passing interest in Japan's youth culture should head to Harajuku Bridge. Here you will see Tokyo at play as groups of fantastically dressed teenagers happily pose for pictures. Many wear cosplay outfits resembling anime characters, Lolita dolls, punk musicians and goths. Takeshita-dori, a street running perpendicular to Harajuku Station, is a great place to shop for the latest youth fashions or simply just to enjoy the fun of 100 yen shops.
Close to Harajuku, Yoyogi Park is well worth a look. On Sundays a group of rockabilly dance enthusiasts do their thing; quite a surreal experience!
