Biei's lavender fields
Beautiful flower fields roll down the gentle hills around Biei.
The flowers fields surrounding the small town of Biei add dramatic splashes of colour to the Hokkaido landscape. A huge range of flowers are grown in this region including lavender, irises, spider flowers, sunflowers and Japanese roses. At Shikisai Hill the flowers are cultivated in rows forming colourful stripes across the rolling hills, particularly pleasant for a gentle stroll or bike ride.
