Discover Japanese life in the Edo Period (1603-1868) at an open-air historical village park.
Nikko Edo Wonderland is a historical theme park that recreates Japanese village life in the Edo Period (1603-1868). The park is really a small town of Edo style buildings and houses and staff actors dressed in period costumes show visitors around. There are many shops and craft workshops in traditional style including a blacksmith and armour repair shop. Experience zones' include a haunted house and a ninja maze which is really difficult to escape from! The highlight of the park is the Grand Ninja Theatre where daily samurai stunt shows take place.
