Blooming Cherry Trees!
One of the big stories on the national news around this time of year in Japan is always the blossoming dates for the famous cherry blossom or sakura. The forecast (Sakura Zensen) features in the daily news giving the latest predictions for when and where the cherry trees will blossom. So far the latest predictions suggest that the trees will be at their most impressive a little earlier than usual with Tokyo on March 25th and Kyoto around March 27th. Of course our already booked up spring tours for 2009 will catch the cherry blossoms at some stage but our first Tokaido Trail of the year will hit the sakura perfectly beginning in Tokyo on March 20th and the amazing thing is, there are still places left! The tour will no doubt catch the best of the cherry blossom in Tokyo, Kamakura, Hakone and Kyoto allowing travellers to partake in the great Japanese annual past time of Hanami or cherry blossom viewing. If you would like to join the Tokaido Trail and have the chance to join the locals eating in one of the most enjoyable of cultural events then please get in contact straight away.
