Meet an ikebana master
Examine the art of Japanese flower arranging
Kifu no Sato ryokan is famous for its ikebana with around 70 flower arrangements on display throughout the inn at any given time. These are skilfully prepared by Kuroda-san, an ikebana master with almost fifty years experience who works exclusively at Kifu no Sato; not surprising given the number of arrangements he has to change on a regular basis. Kuroda-san will talk you through the historic development of ikebana, as well as explaining the spiritual significance of Japanese flower arranging, before you try some techniques out for yourself.
