Ascending the peaks around Niseko on foot will be hard going but the reward of soft untouched powder snow and spectacular views of the Niseko range, Mount Yotei, the surrounding valleys and even the Sea of Japan and Pacific Ocean from certain peaks. After a day of only hearing the sound of your skis or board cutting through the snow and having whole ridges to yourself, you may not want to ski down back town but a cup of warm sake or a hot spring makes a welcome reward for your efforts.
